SCOPE OF WORK:
1100 N State
Located in the epicenter of Chicago’s Gold Coast restaurant district, 1100 N State had been known as the Hunt club for many years. As this neighborhood has evolved over the years, so too was the look at feel of this staple corner. Centaur was selected as the General Contractor to assist in this grand transformation at Maple and State Street. This new 4 story development needed to embrace the history of its surroundings. With its vintage masonry, classic glazing and structural steel elements, it served as the perfect canvas for it retail nucleus. Urban Outfitters now occupies its base and complements the building with its massive exposed staircase and it rough interior finishes. The development was to also serve as home to the pinnacle of Chicago dining, Maple & Ash Restaurant which occupied a portion of the ground floor as well as the entire 3rd and 4th floors of the building. The restaurant’s menu and energy are complimented by its elegant and plush finishes. Although this structure is new to this corner, every aspect of its design and finish lend itself to fitting in like many of the historic structures surrounding it.
