SCOPE OF WORK:
GOLD COAST RESIDENCE
Centaur was provided a unique opportunity in this Gold Coast residence by converting a hydraulic elevator into a gearless traction elevator, and extending the elevator shaft up two floors to a new rooftop level penthouse.
This complicated endeavor required extensive coordination from all facets of the project. Scheduling and planning the renovation added a distinctive challenge to this venture. The elevator extension now includes access to the top level penthouse. An upgraded lighting plan matched with updated tile and paint enhances the size and layout of the space, which includes a wet bar and additional storage closet. Hand painted wood base boards and jambs add elaborate yet simple aesthetics to the room. This new dwelling opens to a spacious Trex synthetic deck complete with retractable awning, sound system, and lighting scheme – perfect for a client who enjoys entertaining.
While the penthouse and elevator modifications were the highlights of this project, the new bathroom on the 3rd floor shines, complete with custom niches and tile patterns that are showcased in the clear glass shower enclosure. Minor alterations were also made to the Great Room, Entrance Hall, and Basement to coincide with the owner’s clean and fashionable style, as well as passion for art. Even with these modifications, the team was able to maintain the upscale contemporary look of this Booth Hansen design.
